What we do

See it.
Act on it.

We use AI to make procurement teams ready to execute: to know exactly where the money goes, and to have the capacity to act on it. We do that in three ways, which you can buy separately or together.

Spend Intelligence gives you a complete overview of what you buy, from whom and on which terms. Automation negotiates prices and payment terms with the many smaller suppliers nobody has time for. Tenders runs competitive tenders and e-auctions on your larger categories.

01

Spend Intelligence

Know every supplier you pay

What we do

You send us a list of your supplier payments for the last two to three years, exported from your finance system. We sort every payment into a category, analyse the financial information of each supplier and add their annual accounts, your payment terms and the market prices behind what they sell.

What you get
  • A full overview of your spend by category and supplier, and how much of it you can influence
  • The financial health of most suppliers, with a warning when it changes
  • The market behind each category: which costs drive your suppliers' prices and how they have moved, so you know when a price increase is justified
  • Your negotiating position with each supplier: how big a customer you are to them, and how much of the category they hold with you
  • Your payment terms compared across suppliers in the same category, and the cash they tie up
  • A savings estimate per category, and a recommendation: negotiate, tender or leave as is

01 / 09

01 / 09 Addressable spend

How much do you spend, and how much can you influence?

What you seeYour total spend broken down step by step to the part procurement can actually work on. Every amount set aside is labelled with the reason, for example intercompany or one-off purchases.
What you getA realistic starting figure, and a clear view of where effort pays off.

02 / 09 Supplier monitoring

What changed among your suppliers this month?

What you seeSuppliers that went bankrupt, weakened financially or changed legal status in the last 30 days, with how much you spend with each. Next to it, the raw material and wage prices that moved more than usual.
What you getYou hear about a supplier problem before it becomes a delivery problem.

03 / 09 Payment terms

Which payment terms do you have, and what do they cost you?

What you seeYour payment terms per supplier, compared with the best terms you already have in the same category, and how much cash the difference ties up.
What you getA realistic target for payment terms, based on agreements you already have.

04 / 09 Category overlap

How many suppliers do you use for the same thing?

What you seeAll suppliers in a category side by side, with spend, share and payment terms. Here, seven telecom suppliers with terms from 15 to 90 days.
What you getClear candidates for consolidating suppliers and aligning terms.

05 / 09 Cost structure

What is the supplier's price actually made of?

What you seeThe price in a category split into three parts: costs that follow a public price index, costs with no index, and what is set in the contract. Below it, how the category's costs have developed.
What you getYou know which part of a price increase you can challenge with facts.

06 / 09 Price drivers

Price arguments with a source

What you seeEach cost behind the price, such as wages, steel or electricity, with its weight and the latest official figure from national statistics offices, Eurostat or the IMF.
What you getFacts a supplier cannot easily dismiss when they announce a price increase.

07 / 09 Supplier risk

How financially robust are your suppliers?

What you seeThe supplier's latest annual accounts in plain words: equity ratio, ability to pay short-term debt and results over several years.
What you getWhere you depend on a weak supplier, and how much of your money runs through them.

08 / 09 Balance of power

Who needs whom the most?

What you seeHow big a customer you are to the supplier, how big the supplier is in your category, and your payment terms compared with similar suppliers.
What you getYou know your negotiating position before the first meeting.

09 / 09 Savings potential

What is the savings potential, and how was it calculated?

What you seeAn expected saving per category and the cash released by better terms, with every assumption visible and adjustable.
What you getA business case you can defend internally, because nothing is hidden.

02

Automation

The smaller suppliers, negotiated too

What we do

Most companies have hundreds of smaller suppliers that are never renegotiated, because nobody has the time. We send each of them a professional request for better prices or payment terms, in your name and within limits you have approved. We read the replies, follow up and sort them. Anything outside your limits comes back to you before we answer.

What you get
  • Better prices and payment terms from suppliers you would otherwise never reach
  • Every message approved by your team before it is sent
  • One overview of where each supplier stands, from first request to agreement
  • Documented savings per supplier, and new prices ready for your system

Tenders

Real competition on your larger categories

What we do

For your larger categories we prepare and run the tender for you: requirements, supplier list and evaluation criteria, all based on your actual spend. Suppliers submit their bids through a simple web page. Where it suits the category, we run a live e-auction in which suppliers bid against each other in real time. AI helps compare the bids against your criteria.

What you get
  • A tender built on facts from your own data, not estimates
  • More qualified suppliers bidding, without extra work for your team
  • A clear comparison of every bid against the price you pay today
  • A recommendation, while the final decision stays with you

Why Argo

Welcome
Aboard
Argo

AI should make the decision easier, not make it for you.

Argo is named after the legendary ship of the Argonauts. Athena set a beam of oak from Dodona into its bow, so the ship could speak. It carried the crew the whole way and spoke up whenever they were in doubt about the route. It always advised, never decided.

We took that name deliberately, because it describes the role we believe AI should have in a procurement team. Argo reads every figure and handles the heavy lifting. The course stays yours.

The crew is your team and ours, people who have run procurement themselves.

Experience

Procurement people, not just software

Argo was founded by three partners with almost 50 years of combined experience as procurement leaders and management consultants. Every analysis and every negotiation is set up by people who have sat on your side of the table.

Control

You stay in control

You can see how every number is calculated, down to the source and the date. Nothing is sent to a supplier without your approval, and anything outside the limits you set comes back to you.

Simplicity

Start small

One list of supplier payments from your finance system is enough to begin. There is no IT project, and each service can be bought on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Argo is a procurement company offering three services: Spend Intelligence, Automation and Tenders. Spend Intelligence gives you a complete overview of your spend and suppliers based on a payment export from your finance system. Automation negotiates prices and payment terms with your smaller suppliers. Tenders runs competitive tenders and e-auctions on your larger categories. The services can be bought separately, and each is delivered with senior procurement expertise alongside the technology.

Spend Intelligence covers all your external spend. Automation is designed for the many smaller suppliers, where the combined value is meaningful but each supplier rarely gets attention. Tenders are for categories where volume and competition justify a formal process.

Yes. Each service stands on its own. Many clients start with Spend Intelligence because it shows which categories are worth negotiating or tendering, but you can also start directly with a tender or an automation project based on your own supplier list.

A payment export at supplier level for the last two to three years, which most finance systems produce with standard functionality. Payment terms and agreement information add depth if you have them. No IT project is needed. If you use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, we can later connect directly.

Spend Intelligence is an onboarding fee and a monthly subscription. Automation and Tenders are either a fixed fee or a share of the savings achieved, agreed up front.
